The National Association of Landscape Professionals will hold its annual volunteer service event Renewal & Remembrance in conjunction with its annual advocacy event, Legislative Days on the Hill, July 15-17 in Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia.

Legislative Days on the Hill is the association’s annual education, networking and lobbying day on the Hill. We need everyone in the industry to speak up about the issues that impact landscape and lawn care businesses,” said Missy Henriksen NALP Vice President, Public Affairs. “By bringing everyone together, learning from the experts and discussing issues with peers, we are building a formidable force that can make an impact. We strongly encourage everyone to attend.”

This year, the lineup for Legislative Days includes panel discussions on key issues such as:

• The Farm Bill

• H-2B

• EPA regulation

• E-Verify and immigration reform

• Social media and advocacy

The day of service, Renewal & Remembrance, takes place in conjunction with Legislative Days on the Hill. Volunteers will spend the day on Monday, July 16, completing lawn care, tree care, and landscape and irrigation projects at Arlington National Cemetery.

“Help us honor America’s veterans by lending your professional skills to care for and beautify one of our nation’s most hallowed places – Arlington National Cemetery,” said Tom Fochtman, Ceibass, CEO. “You’ll work side by side with hundreds of NALP members and their family members in partnership with the horticulture team at Arlington to improve the lawns, shore up historic trees, landscape, and complete irrigation and hardscape projects on the grounds. Participating in this event gives me one of the best feelings I have all year.”

Legislative Days on the Hill is free and open to all industry professionals. Renewal & Remembrance is open to NALP members. For details and to register go to NALP at landscapeprofessionals.org.
