With the relaxation of the pandemic and a possible end or at least a serious let up in the spread of the virus seemingly around the corner the enterprise value specialists at Ceibass have been talking to lawn and landscape business owners about what’s next.

“One of the things we are seeing is a little bit of a drop in energy,” said Tom Fochtman, Ceibass. “It’s only natural really. Many companies have been grinding through the pandemic with extraordinary year’s growth, doing a lot more with a lot less, taking on new business, everyone is stretched just a little thin. And let’s face it, with the politics and the pandemic it has been very stressful. So maybe now is the time to celebrate and re-energize as we are about enter the busy spring season.”

The team at Ceibass went on to describe some ways to celebrate and re-energize a company fatigued by the circumstances of 2020.

Refocus on your people and on your team. Get out and “walk the floor.” Be visible. Ask questions. Find out what people need. Let them vent. Be attuned to your team. Foster an authentic curiosity to find out and help fix things. What are they going through? Empathy matters.

Listen for personal problems and be a radiant source of help for your team members on a personal level. What do they need? Some time off? Getting in better shape? Taking care of their health? Attend to their needs.

Celebrate the people who are living and breathing your company’s shared values. Your shared values help unite and strengthen your company. Give them recognition. Give them small gifts. Show your appreciation.

Move people up if they are ready. Realign your talent and redeploy your best and brightest to places where they can make the greatest impact. New positions, new salaries, new responsibilities energize people. Motivated people energize others. It’s contagious.
