Independence Day, the Fourth of July or July Fourth, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and were no longer part of the British Empire.

On this day we make it a point to praise the nation’s heritage, laws, history, society, and to give thanks to the people of our Armed Forces, who have sacrificed so much for our independence.

“And I also want to celebrate those business owners in the lawn & landscape industry who have declared that they want to be independent,” said Tom Fochtman, Ceibass, CEO. “They fight for their financial independence everyday. They are passionate about making it work out. They take on great risk. They lose sleep. Worry about every detail. Give up their time, & energy to build up their company, their people, and produce satisfaction with their clients.”

Tom went on to say that it is the sacrifice of many who have made it possible for business owners to achieve financial independence. That we should not take our political freedom for granted.

“I think of business owners on July 4th because of their values…American values at heart,” said Tom. “These owners don’t work alone, they’re not lone wolves. They value people. Teamwork. They don’t break trust. To gain and maintain their freedom they keep their obligations with customers and employees. They build identities in their communities as caretakers. They give back. They make life better for people around them. Everything that our declaration of being independent was meant to achieve.”

Have a wonderful Fourth of July holiday celebration.
